Are you looking for a delicious, home cooked, and Kosher style dinner? The Hirsch family is opening their home to YAD to host a Shabbat dinner in James Island. Kids are welcome to attend.

When you RSVP, please sign up to bring challah (2), wine (2-3), or plastic plates/cups/cutlery. Also, please indicate if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies.

Organizing the Kosher Food Pantry

YAD just 'GLEANED' a bunch of produce for the Charleston Kosher Food Pantry, now let's CLEAN it! The Charleston Jewish Community Kosher Food Pantry is our Jewish communal response to hunger in Charleston and reflects our commitment to the Jewish values of Tzedakah (justice), Tikkun Olam (repair of the world) and to serving community members in need with Kavod (respect). Right now, millions of Jewish Americans are struggling with hunger. These are often hard-working adults, children and seniors who simply cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals, or even days. In 2012, the Kosher Food Pantry distributed over 5,000 meals to members of our community, over 90% of whom are Jewish.

Help make their lives easier by joining YAD to organize and clean the pantry, and help out the Charleston JCC staff who already dedicate so much time and effort to help the community. Email Rachael at admin@charlestonyad.org for more details and to sign up.

Looking for a twist on the traditional Shabbat dinner? YAdie Aaron Engel is opening up his home for a Sephardic Mediterranean potluck Shabbat on Friday, June 14^th.

Please RSVP to admin@charlestonyad.org by June 7. When you RSVP, sign up to bring wine, soda, appetizer, salad, side dish, fruit, or dessert.

Looking to get outside and spend time on the beach with other YADies? Join YAD this summer for our first of many beach days on Sunday, June 30th from 11-3 on Folly Beach. We'll meet on the beach at 4th Street East--- turn to the left when you get to Folly and continue down to 4th Street. Look for the YAD sign in the sand to find us!

Bring your beach towel, sunscreen, games, and some drinks/snacks to share--- but remember that Folly Beach is alcohol-free now!
